Providing Contraception

This public health post is on contraception and its accessibility. It was taken at the Walmart near the "pharmacy" and "personal care" aisles. This is an example of public health because the use of condoms contribute to the decrease in unplanned pregnancies and the probability of contracting sexually transmitted infections. Condoms protect both partners who choose to engage in sexual activity. 

 We chose this topic because of the abundance of teenage pregnancies as well as the frequent transmission of STI/ STDs, and the lack of awareness about contraception. It is an important topic for the public to be knowledgeable about and it is also important for them to have the proper protection available.

 It is important that other people consider this an example of public health because the decision to engage in sexual behavior affects more than one person and is not discriminitive to a particular demographic.

    With an abundance of teenage pregnancies as well as transmittion of STI/ STDs and the lack of awareness about contraception, this is an imporant that the public have both knowledge and protection available to them.
    It is important that other people consider this an example of public health because decisions of engaging in sexual behavior affects more than one person and is not discriminitive to a particular demographic.
