The Exchange Living Green

The development of public health is very important to our community as a whole. The first location we chose to place our ‘This is Public Health’ sticker was The Exchange at Athens. The picture above is a sign that is posted in the front office at The Exchange at Athens. This sign emphasizes the Exchange’s efforts of living green. This sign is an example of public health for its informative outreach it provides prospects and residents. The information provided promotes general health of how the community can benefit from living green. The Exchange’s effort of promoting living green has the ability to reduce CO2 by over 250,000 lbs a year by switching to more energy efficient light bulbs (which they do). The Exchange acknowledges that there are more than one ways of recycling outside of the normal cans, plastics and paper. The Exchange efforts transcends from energy conservation to water preservation. They offer energy efficient appliances, ceiling fans, and energy saving light bulbs. They also offer low-flowing toilets and shower-heads. I believe by The Exchange implementing these environmentally friendly opportunity, it allows over 850 residents the opportunity take part of their living green program with very little effort. By recycling, we can decrease the amount of waste that is disposed in the landfills, energy produced and water that is used. This sign is a great reminder of the benefits as to why we should take living green more seriously.
