This Is Public Health-Sanitation Center
In this blog I decided to choose a sanitation center that I use frequently throughout my week. It is located at my local gym in my apartment complex next to the leg press. It is a compact sanitation “center” that has a trashcan, paper towels, and disinfectant. This is an example of public health because after using equipment you can before and after to clean up any possible bacteria or sweat. Since it’s a public gym, in the sense that anyone in the apartment complex can use, it has a lot of people come in and out using all the machines and you don’t know if the person before you washed the equipment or if he/she was sick or had any open cuts on their hands/feet. I chose this example because, I use it almost daily when I exercise and secondly because with winter coming up and the flu is about to become a prevalent problem with UGA students this could help keep me (and others) from becoming sick and possibly spreading our sickness. It’s important for others to consider this as public health because (as I stated before) it could help prevent the spread of the flu/cold.

I liked that you made a blog post about sanitation centers in gyms. Whenever I am at the gym, even when I use a machine for less than 5~10 mins, not long enough to break a sweat, I clean my station and machine. I just find it part of my responsibility to not spread any of my germs and infect other people with whatever I may have. However, not many people feel the same and do not sanitize their area, which is very unsanitary. Often times I end up sanitizing the station/machine before AND after... just to be safe. This is a good example of public health and it's important for people to help prevent the spread of diseases. Good job!
