Reflection On Ben Gray's Nutrition Presentation

In Ben Gray's presentation, he talked to us about the importance of nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle in college students. We learned from him how to have a balance lifestyle by exercising and getting the proper nutrition. Also, we learned what the right amount of portions you need a day per food group and the amount of time you should exercise per day. This topic interested me specifically because I'm a student athlete here at UGA and knowing how to keep my body healthy is really important to me. It is very important for me to stay healthy and in shape in order to be at my best at practice and cheering at football or basketball games. Since I have to workout twice a week, I'm able to stay active but I was unaware of how to have a healthy diet because all the pressures of the delicious dining hall food. So Mr. Gray's talk to us about obesity in college students alerted me to look after my eating habits because working out just isn't enough. This topic is important to public health because everyone needs to be aware of their own health if they want to live a long happy life. It is important to maintain a healthy body weight and making sure you get the right amount of nutrients and exercise on a day to day basis. I have remaining questions about how I can eat healthy in the dining halls? Also, I like my sweets and my fried foods and I know its okay to splurge sometimes but is it okay to do it more than once or twice a week?
