Sanitizing wipes

1) Description of what and where your example is

Our example was a hand sanitizing wipe station at Kroger. They are placed right by the carts so this is helpful because it gives people the option to sanitize their hands before selecting a cart. So many people use the carts at Kroger everyday and there is no way of knowing if the other customers have clean hands or not. If other people see you use them then other people are more inclined to use them as well, which results in less germs spreading. Also people touch just about everything in a grocery store so if their hands are dirty it is likely they will spread their germs.

2) Description of how your choice is an example of public health

The sanitizing wipes are an example of Public Health because it is free to the public and promotes a more sanitary lifestyle in a common place where everyone is welcome and many people go to everyday.

3) Why you chose this example

We chose this because it is a very common location for students and even teachers to go to on a daily basis and it would be beneficial if people knew this resource was there.

4) Why it is important that others consider this example of public health

When going into a store like Kroger you would like to know that you are entering into a clean environment especially a place where you are purchasing food. If your food is full of germs you are more likely to get sick and continue to spread germs to others
