Vending Machine Safety

This is a warning label we found on a vending machine at Georgia Square Mall. It is warning anyone not to tip or rock the vending machine for fear getting injured. The vending machine itself could fall on whoever is messing around with it. This is an example of public health, because it could save someone's life. It is especially important for teens and children who are used to roughhousing. Kids may try to shake the machine in order to get free soda and end up hurting themselves. This warning label shows the possibility of the machine tipping over on you. We chose this example, because a vending machine is not something you usually see as a threat to yourself. However, it can be very dangerous, especially because you are not expecting it to cause harm. Other people should consider this an example of public health, because this warning prevents you from bodily damage while preventing the community from theft.

  1. It's kind of sad that the vending machine company is required to have stickers like this... Seems like natural selection isn't acceptable in our great nation anymore. If it were up to me, there would be no such warning labels. If you are truly dumb enough to tip one of these over on yourself, it is your own fault and your genes not being passed to the next generation would probably be for the best... The funny thing is that you KNOW someone actually did this, sued the company, and made a ton.
