This fire hydrant, located across the street from Clarke Central High School on Milledge Avenue, is an example of public health because it is a vital part of our public safety. Public safety includes the fire fighters that use a fire hydrant in an emergency situation to protect the community and environment. Around this fire hydrant, there is a school and multiple homes and businesses. If there was not fire hydrants close to these establishments and there was a fire situation, then many people would be hurt and lots of property would be damaged. I chose this as an example of public health because I respect firemen very much, and I am so thankful for the risks they take everyday to save others. I have a very special cousin who is a firefighter, and I look up to him for his courage and his strength. I believe it is important for others to also consider this as public health because it is an important part of their safety and overall well being. Even if a person never experiences a house fire, the relief of knowing that fire hydrants are available can ease a persons mind and help promote well being. Fire hydrants are a part of our public safety and our public health.
