This is Public Health Photo!

This bench is my example of public health! This is located around the corner of my house on Milledge Avenue and I think it is a great example of public health. Having benches around outside encourages the community to spend more time in the outdoors. Knowing there are benches near can get people to go on more walks with their friends and spend time afterwards talking and resting on the benches. I chose this example because I think being active in the outdoors is extremely important. I love being outside and I believe spending time walking and sitting outside positively impacts my health. Exercise and vitamin D from the sun are two positives that can come from this specific example of public health. Especially in our generation where so much time is spent inside on computers, in front of the television, or playing video games, it is extremely essential for everyone to get up and be outside. Benches are also a place where people can spend alone time reading a book or also it can be a social place to mingle with friends. Alone time to reflect on yourself or talking with friends about issues are both ways to form better emotional and mental health. The outdoors, physical activity, and spending time with others all definitely influence a healthier lifestyle.
