This Is Public Health! Condoms

This is a picture of condoms around a safer sex 101 pamphlet in my room. This is an example of public health because condoms promote safe sex and are highly effective in preventing the sexual transmission of STDs, STIs, and HIV, the virus that causes AIDS. I chose this example because I believe that sexual health is very important and I believe that condoms should be used consistently and correctly to reduce that risk of transmission. It is important for others to consider condoms as a form of public health because most STDs don't have immediate signs or symptoms and if you dont know you have it then you can spread the viruses to others, and it can become an epidemic. Wrap it up!

  1. I agree with Ashley's statements about the importance of condoms. I think it's important for college students to be educated on the risks STIs, because a lot of young people feel that taking birth control pills gives them the protection that they need. If more people used condoms, there would be a lot less health issues in the world.
