This pet waste station is an example of public health. They are located in various places around my apartment complex so that they are available to everyone that lives here with a pet. I chose this example because I have a dog and this makes it convenient for me to do my part in keeping the environment clean and help the health of the community. This is an example of public health because pet waste can be a health hazard. Dog waste carries numerous types of bacteria that can cause illness to humans. Dog waste can also carry worms that can infect humans and other dogs. It is important that others consider this an example of public health because if pet owners do not consider pet waste a hazard and do not have a disposal site for it then they will not think twice about just leaving it on the ground, but if people realize that is can be hazardous and are given a convenient means to cleaning it up then everyone can do their part in helping the community.
