TIPH Photo (Herman C. Michael Park)

This picture was taken at the Herman C. Michael park in Watkinsville, GA. The park is an example of public health because it benefits the entire population of the Athens area by providing free access to tennis courts, walking trails, basketball courts, and a disc golf course. I chose this as my example because I frequently go to the park to play disc golf. I think others should go to the park because its a great place to go to get exercise, try a new sport, and fresh air.

  1. I think this is a great example of public health. Exercise is a crucial part of maintaining a healthy lifestyle and free/public facilities, like this one that is near Athens, are great environments to get physical activity. Some people think exercise isn't fun and they do not enjoy participating, but this Disc Golf Course is a good example of fun exercise. It is a creative way to get active that a lot of people don't even know about. More advertisement for this facility would be beneficial in Athens.
