TIPH blog picture

My post is a picture of a hand sanitizer dispenser. The picture was taken at Olive Garden in Atlanta Ga. It is public health because it encourages people to stop the spread of bacteria and diseases. I chose this example because it is a simple example that models public health. It is in a very public place(restaurant) and with it being placed at the entrance and the bathroom, more people use it. It is important that other people view this as an example of public health because this is something that is easily accessible and helps everyone! With more people using this, it will stop the spread of infectious diseases.

    I like this example of public health, because I know that most people don't think to wash their hands before eating at restaurants. This is especially important at places like Olive Garden, because they serve breadsticks that are eaten with the hands, and multiple people reach into the basket and could come in contact with other people's food. I think using hand sanitizer before eating is a good way to prevent the spread of illnesses, especially during the winter months.
