I chose Spec Towns Track as my example of Public Health because not only is it open for the track team, but it is open to the public to use during certain hours. Many students and families come out to Spec Towns to run or walk. The track is usually only opened to the public during the times that the track team is not practicing which is usually from about 2-5 pm. People may find that exercising on a track is more beneficial than running on sidewalks because if you are jogging on sidewalks sometimes you may have to wait for cars to pass so you can cross the street, you are always having to watch for cars turning into parking lots, and trying to avoid other people walking on the sidewalk. If you are on a track there are 8 lanes which allow room for many people to run without worrying about being in somebody's way and you can focus more on your workout without worrying about cars or pedestrians. Also, it is better for your shins and ankles to run on a surfaced track as opposed to running on uneven concrete sidewalks.
